In the last couple of weeks, I have run into a problem three times. Today publishing isn't a big subject, so I probably shouldn't have now been surprised. But I was. You see writing also isn't an interest that evokes enthusiasm in people -- particularly professionals. Or maybe I will claim exorbitant thoughts rather than passion. You see writers tend to place their emotions onto the paper, perhaps not to their true lives. Perhaps that is one purpose writers are this kind of laid back group -- we expend the noisy thoughts written down and keep the quiet people for real life.
In any case, two of the instances included people declaring that eBooks weren't real books. And that only printed books were worth significant consideration. I should be straightforward; one of them admitted that digital books -- meaning true printed books copied to a digital structure -- were however valid.
At once, I was predicting the effect of the birth of old-fashioned publishers on the eBook scene.
This got me to considering because I write both forms of books. What is the big difference between publishing an eBook and writing a traditional book?
It did not take me long to realize that I wanted to ascertain what I meant by a book and an eBook. You see eBooks have developed a bad reputation. One that is deserved. That of being poor quality and being an average of a tempest in a teapot. A very tiny teapot.
So I'd to place some limits round the terms.
Far too often eBooks are actually just studies with an over-inflated feeling of self-importance. They're really just bright papers and expanded report period pieces. They're way too small to be seriously regarded as a book or eBook. For the most part they may match the meaning of monograph. An essay or dissertation to become more precise.
And second they're often defectively written and badly edited. But that is not a component of the medium. That is clearly a factor of the trouble and acceptance of quality.
But both these certainly are a vanishing breed. They may work for a short while but the market will eliminate them soon.
On another give I also viewed books. And noticed that books ran from uniqueness and government period entirely up to tomes. Therefore researching publishing different length books was planning to be always a problem.
The only way to be good was to examine the exact same fruit of the writing tree... similar length books of the exact same type.
So what's the big difference between publishing a very long eBook of 100 pages and an government length book of a hundred pages?
Does an eBook take less time? Nope.
Does an eBook take less energy? Nope.
Does an eBook take fewer measures? Nope.
Does an eBook take various measures? Maybe not for the writing parts.
Therefore what is the big difference?
The writing step. When writing an eBook you have to structure the book in the form it will be bought in. When publishing using a standard method the publisher does that.
But perhaps that's a publisher's issue perhaps not the writer. And this really is a purpose of the utilization of conventional writers versus home publishing.
So the solution is... there's number difference. Writing an eBook is exactly the same as writing a conventional book.
