World of Warcraft: Shadowlands big pre-expansion event

Don't expect a fantastic uptick in visual quality -- these beam tracing effects just apply to WOW Classic TBC Gold shadows, and that means you're going to see a softer, more realistic regions of darkness when you are using the option. This doesn't revamp the game's whole lighting version, so that you won't get as transformative a result as in, say, Minecraft's RTX implementation.

You're going to want a GPU that supports ray tracing tier 1.1, using the latest drivers, in addition to the May 2020 upgrade for Windows 10 -- and, of course, you'll need to be using DirectX 12. You can head to the Blizzard website to opt-in to get an opportunity at beta access, too.

The people at Wowhead have captured a load of contrast shots to show what those ray-traced shadows look like. It's a shame WoW ray tracing will not go beyond shadows for today, since the stylised design and easy character models would look incredible under the spotlight of extremely realistic lighting.

Blizzard first detailed Shadowlands in Blizzcon 2019. The expansion includes five new zones for players to explore, a pumped leveling system that compresses the old one to 60 levels and new customization options, including the option to change the gender of your personality without paying a fee. Alongside a launch date, Blizzard shared Afterlives: Bastion, the first of four animated shorts developed to enlarge the story of Shadowlands. The brief centers onto a familiar face from the Warcraft world: Uther.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands big pre-expansion event is live on the test servers and it has unleashed an unfathomably big zombie plague on players, turning Azeroth's capital cities to undead wastelands. Players that get within arm's reach may also be infected, giving them special zom-bilities and allowing them attack other players to cheap WOW Burning Crusade Classic Gold spread the infection.
