GRE is an entrance exam required for admissions to graduate studies in the U.S and many other countries. It is an important component of the application along with the student’s academic record, the letters of recommendation and the Statement of purpose.

It tests abilities that are acquired over a long period of time and hence is a test of one’s crystallized abilities. Specifically it tests the students math, verbal and writing skills. The math tested is of high school level and focus of questions is on testing the application of logic than on testing of knowledge. The verbal questions similarly tests one’s ability to understand a piece of text focusing especially on the ability to the use the context to identify the answers. A few logic based questions are also part of the verbal sections which test one’s ability to identify assumptions, the premise or the conclusion given in an argument.

The writing sections test one’s ability to present or critically evaluate an argument in a cogent and correct language.

Both the verbal and math sections are scored in the range of 130 to 170 with the total ranging from 260 to 340. The score in the writing sections ranges from 0 to 6.

There are two verbal sections, two math sections and two writing sections. There is one more section which is experimental and could be either the math section or the verbal section and is not counted towards the score. The duration of the verbal and writing sections is 30 minutes and the duration of the math sections is 35 minutes with both the verbal and math section containing 20 questions per section.

The exam is computer based and can be taken throughout the year. It can be repeated any number of times. It is a partially adaptive exam in the sense the difficulty level of the second verbal and math section will vary depending on the performance in the first section.

GRE is also used for admissions to the MBA programs by a large number of universities.

An ideal preparation starts at least 6 months before the start of the application process. A very high score which is 330 plus guarantees admissions from a top University along with financial assistant-ship in addition to helping a lot in the visa process.

Developing the mental skills for the GRE

GRE is a test of logic. But what is less understood is that GRE is also a test of composure, a test of focus and concentration and as with any intelligence tests is also a test of intuition.

In a nutshell GRE tests certain important mental traits though it is not patently obvious. Many people who possess the natural aptitude to score high on the GRE actually under perform even significantly as they are caught off guard by not fully equipping themselves mentally.

We are offering for the first time in the history of coaching for the mental tests, a program to develop and hone a wide range of mental skills that are essential for a big success in the exam. The sad fact is, even the critical skill of logic has not been a focus of coaching and we correct this gross neglect by teaching students how to apply logic and therefore acquire a general problem solving ability.

But we offer much more than that through our mind development program. Our expert directly works on the various mental traits and makes the student fit and ready irrespective of his original aptitude. This is not done in any other GRE coaching program and our expert doing this is acclaimed as the best in the field.

Every student who attends the course and gets the above benefits is not only well prepared for the exam but also for all his other future endeavors and even for his day to day management of life as the traits that are developed are critical for success in any task.

We hope that students will usurp this opportunity to score high on the exam and also enhance critical skills of life.
