Realm Royale Headed To Nintendo Switch

Hi-Rez Studios has found a pretty solid following on the Nintendo Switch as of late, between its hit multiplayer games Paladins and Smite, which recently made its debut on the platform. But some data mining by a few hardcore fans suggest there’s more where that came from. Based on the information that was unearthed, the term “Merge Nintendo crown” has been spotted, indicating that another Hi-Rez game could be on the way to join the others. And the only popular favorite that would be a fit for the platform at the moment would be the Battle Royale game Realm Royale.

Realm Royale is a fantasy battle royale that allows us to choose a class, as well as find and create weapons and skills during the course of a game, so as to customize our champion so that it adapts to our style of play.Players can move up and down the map on the back of their trusty steed and can enjoy single player, pair or team modes.

However, that will be changing soon. Realm Royale has been prematurely announced for Nintendo Switch. The announcement was via a now-deleted video, but Nintendo Everything got a screen cap of the video saying the game is available to play on the Switch “now”—which it obviously isn’t. It seems like the video may have been put up early by mistake, but also that the game is indeed coming shortly. Why else would the video be ready to go? That said, for now, it’s not officially confirmed, so don’t celebrate just yet. If you want to play it, it’s available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. But if this and Apex Legends do indeed come to Switch, Fortnite could see some competition on the platform.

As of now, Switch owners can play Paladins for free on the console, and luckily for those players, Realm Royale shares some gameplay similarities. While Realm Royale is third-person a la Fortnite, compared to Paladins and its first-person perspective, both allow players to mount horses to traverse through the map—seeing how the Realm Royale map is significantly larger, these mounts are a must.
