Best Professions in WoW TBC Classic to Help You Make more WoW Gold

WoW Classic Burning Crusade has finally launched, and while players rush to hit the new level 70 cap, the rush to level up new ranks of Professions will soon begin! With this in mind, we've broken down each WoW Classic TBC profession to help you make more wow gold and which you should choose and combine in the new expansion.

New Profession: Jewelcrafting

The Burning Crusade introduces a new profession: Jewelcrafting. Recipes were created for the Classic system as well, though Socketed Gems are not available until TBC content.

The following item types are created through Jewelcrafting:

Statues - small items set down next to the player that will heal them for a short time (Classic only)

Fist weapon (Classic only)

Jewelry - necklaces, rings, and crowns (cloth head pieces)

Trinkets

Socketed Gems - blue, red, yellow, green, orange, purple, and meta (fit in all socket types) (TBC only)

As part of Jewelcrafting, players also learn Prospecting, which allows them to break ore down into raw gems. This is only one way to get gems. Jewelcrafted items use both ore and gems to craft items. For this reason, Jewelcrafting is often paired with Mining.

In TBC, some items will come equipped with sockets that correspond to a specific colored gem. Sockets come in four types: Blue, Red, Yellow, and Meta. You can put a gem into a socket that either corresponds directly to that color gem, or a socket that includes the color. Green, orange, and purple gems can fit into one of two sockets each:

Green gems: blue or yellow socket

Orange gems: red or yellow socket

Purple gems: red or blue socket

Leatherworking

Once believed to be a requirement for every raider in TBC, this profession was nerfed significantly by changes Blizzard made to Drums of Battle.

A few classes will still use this profession early for some crafted pieces and armor upgrades, but leatherworking is mostly used for Drums of Battle.

Despite being nerfed, raids will still want to have at least one leatherworker in each group of a raid. In total, that means you'll want to have at least five raiders with leatherworking in your 25-man raids.

Tailoring

Tailoring will be the profession of choice for cloth-wearing classes like Warlock, which is the strongest DPS class in TBC.

The profession provides numerous powerful pre-raid pieces of gear and also gives Warlocks their best-in-slot two-piece Spellstrike set.

Mining & Herbalism

This is arguably the most profitable combination in TBC Classic Phase 1 if you want to use your professions strictly for gold making and don't plan on crafting anything for yourself. When you're running these two professions all you have to do is roam around Outland collecting herbs and ores, sell the valuable ones on the auction house, and dump all the cheap stuff at vendors. Rinse and repeat. Having a flying mount will increase the efficiency of your faming by a lot. You should also consider looking for an add-on that tracks herbs and mineral nodes because there's bound to be a lot of competition on both WoW Classic EU and NA servers.

Blacksmithing

To fuel your Blacksmithing, you can pair it with Mining.

In WOW Classic, Blacksmithing is not the most profitable profession, but in TBC, you need to use the hammer and anvil. And Blacksmithing is the gateway to some magical weapons, and there will be new upgrades at each stage.

These weapons include Lionheart Blade and Drakefist Hammer and others. They are the strongest choice for many classes for most stages of TBC, and each stage will be improved.
