Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are a large amount of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles on the market, but there must be something that you've hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or perhaps a major healing. So, what was it?”

“Trust,” I said.

Think of your life because it appears to be these days when it comes to the story. How can we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who is my source?” So whenever we discuss the final stage to the awakening being pure trust, it's simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon most of these made-up concepts, beliefs and ideas in the world. It's similar to making a big house of cards, stacking on a single card after the other. A good wind comes along and poof, it's just blown over a course in miracles. It can't even stand only a little gust of wind. It's so frail. It's so temporary. It's so transitory; It had been this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon anything else; dozens of things that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy?It really comes right down to the essence of who's my cousin? Is it Spirit or matter? Is it Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried that certain?So you're asking the question, “If someone dies or appears to be dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where this is heading would be to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will show you is that everything is mental and that everything is a hallucination. This is a world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There is no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to build his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the text between thought and form. His lessons start off with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all this is it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way around number four, “These thoughts don't mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He's discussing thoughts. First He's discussing perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes back with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 ... perception, perception, perception, perception, perception ... and then number 10, “My thoughts don't mean anything.” You will see he's trying to melt everything together and show the final veil or stage of awakening, which can be trust.

The Holy Spirit uses time for you to teach us there is no such thing as time, to take us back to that particular timeless moment that's the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to instruct us that they are all illusions and that they are all equally meaningless. That's precisely the method of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work well with your brain to loosen the attachments from the investment in a myriad of things. What kind of things do you spend money on, these days?
